Frequently asked questions
How does this fancy text generator work?
Every style you see is real Unicode. The generator swaps each letter you type for a lookalike character from another Unicode block, like the mathematical alphabets or enclosed letters. Because they are ordinary characters, they survive copy and paste anywhere text is allowed.
Are these actual fonts?
No, and that is the useful part. A font would need to be installed wherever your text is shown. These are characters, so an Instagram bio or Discord name shows them without anyone installing anything.
Why do some characters show as boxes?
A box or question mark means the device viewing your text has no glyph for that character. The common styles here (bold, cursive, bubble, small caps) render almost everywhere; rarer picks like the filled squares can fall back to boxes on old devices.
Is styled text bad for accessibility?
Long runs of it are. Screen readers announce each character by its Unicode name, so a whole paragraph of cursive letters is exhausting to listen to. Use styles as an accent, in names and short lines, rather than for whole posts.
